Jim deployed to Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) in support of the War on Terror during 2004-2005. Performing the duties of a gun truck commander, he assisted in over 270 convoy security escort missions as well as numerous patrols. An avid runner, he enjoys spending time with his family, appreciating the outdoors, and continues to write.
